Installation: Rural Home Internet
Rural Internet for Remote Work
Established a more dependable connection for video meetings, access to work systems, and everyday internet use.
The Challenge
Weak cellular reception and an inconsistent hotspot connection made video meetings, file transfers, and everyday remote work difficult.
The Installed Solution
Installed and aligned an outdoor directional LTE unit for the property’s available carrier connection, then configured a dedicated router for the home network.
The Outcome
Established a more dependable connection for video meetings, access to work systems, and everyday internet use.
Equipment Details
Outdoor MikroTik SXT LTE directional unit (SXTR) connected to a MikroTik router. Mounting hardware, weather-resistant cabling, and suitable power equipment supplied as specified in the installation quote.
Performance Notes
Installation successfully shifted the property from an unstable, fluctuating signal to an optimized cellular connection. Baselines moved from an average of 4 Mbps download / 1 Mbps upload via phone hotspots to a stable 45 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload through the dedicated outdoor array. Latency was brought down from over 120ms with extreme jitter to a steady 42ms, establishing the consistent bandwidth required for uninterrupted corporate VPN connections and high-definition video conferencing.
